{Arizona Wedding Photography | Catalina Foothills Private Estate | Inspiration: Hippies, Biceps and Burlap}
Brent & Erica are beasts. They love the outdoors, thrive in physical activity, boast of outdoing eachother’s push-up count–the first conversation I had with them immediately turned to Erica’s emphatic insistence that humans have simply forgotten that were were designed to run and 50 miles is no biggee. riiiiight… They are a hoot. And madly in love. Since they actually had a destination wedding in Tucson and had to plan their wedding long-distance from Colorado, Erica’s mom and aunt were the wedding planners. I met with them first and legitimately choked on coffee the entire time because I was laughing so hard. Laughter just runs in the veins of these people. It’s incredible. I was STOKED to be able to capture the laughter on such a special day…They warned me prior to meeting Erica…’she’s no frills. totally relaxed. no crazy demands. pretty hippie’…and when I met the bride-to-be–ms. blue eyes and blonde dreads she simply said…”Just do your thing. I’m not even sure what I want…except that people are happy; that we look happy–stay happy.” And to quote one of my movies: “Their happy was so very LOUD.” | lkm
Erica had these awesome uber-hippie sandals made from scratch. real leather. tanned and stained just for her.
she also wore her grandma’s pearls and kept an heirloom of a hankerchief with her throughout the day
the prelude to the whole shibang was awesome. so chill. sisters hanging out with cousins. it was great!

Erica was such a fun bride!
Lori, mom, is an amazing mom. She pretty much made me cry just watching her get weepy throughout the day.
And then they had a first look moment…so tender and special. They couldn’t WAIT to be together that morning. And as soon as she, literally, flew up into his arms, it was like a very definitive “start” switch was flipped. like the day had officially started and they were going to be side by side the whole way through.

biggest. bouquet. ever.

they totally insisted on this pose…boys, boys, boys. (props to my 2nd shooter Tony Bernardo for snatching this shot below)

{Lauren | Ventana Canyon Couture Bridal Session | Tucson Wedding Photographer}
Lauren’s grandmother MADE her incredible wedding dress. Jaw-dropping right? Hand-laced. Hand-loved. I haven’t been able to do very many bridal sessions and it was extraordinary. The ability to relax, capture these still moments in this one of a kind dress, laugh and giggle a bit with the bride-to-be, practice moving and enjoying her wedding dress …it was really special. I’m so glad we did this Lauren. I’m so glad you took the time and thought to honor your grandma and all the sweat, blood and tears that went into this piece of art. You are a joy. | lkm

We specifically wanted to get pictures of grandma actually working on the dress…

and of course grandpa got to sneak in a kiss as well :)

and then we went to go enjoy some of the glowy sunset up in the foothills of the catalina mountains

{Jesse & Sam | Norco Horse Town USA | Southern California Wedding Photographer | Inspiration: Country Chic & Baby’s Breath }
I get choked up every time I think about Sam’s wedding day. I met this young lady when she was still in highschool. She loved people. She loved life. She loved Jesus with all her heart, mind and soul. It’s been a long, arduous road since then to the day I watched her stand before Jesse and vow her life and heart to share with him. The celebration was epic. The joy in the air was contagious. It was a day to give back to this girl who was characterized by giving so much of herself. And it was. absolutely.delightful. My heart continus to sing as i share these highlights. (Note: go HERE to revisit their fun surprise proposal/engagement session earlier last year!) | lkm

love her little details. pearls. sparkles. lace toms….
we got all the girls gathered up to go shoot in the hills of Norco….and yes i drooled THOROUGHLY over all that lush, green grass! (yes, i live in desert)
i gave her a sneak peak of these shots and she squeeled, “oh my gosh! it really is just like pride and prejudice!! those rolling hills! Gah!”
then we headed over to the Pawley’s house…where she did SO much life; her 2nd home. :)
best friend and MOH time together :)
hashtag: resting, refreshing, sunbeam recharge, etc.
meanwhile…the guys were getting their duds on..props to second shooter Emily for helping snag their dapper-ness… :)

and then they got ready for their first look :)

he was so taken…so tender

Ryan & Samantha | Yellow and Teal Couture Wedding Photography | San Diego, Green Gables Estate | Pt.1
{Ryan & Samantha | Yellow and Teal Couture Wedding Photography | San Diego, Green Gables Estate | The Girls}
So…i’m breaking highlights from this amazing San Diego wedding into multiple parts. There is just…too much awesomeness. Yellow and deep teal were Sam’s colors with a splash of couture inspiration. With Guess heels and Vera Wang dress, Ms. Fashionista herself was glowing. My team and I arrived at the ‘girls pad’ late morning with time to spare so we could just hang out and bond a bit while they gussied up…

oh that dress…. Vera Wang did not dissapoint!

Sam and her mom had a really special bond…
Once we donned the dress, touched up the make-up we had planned to spend a good amount as ‘just us girls.’ We hit up mom’s orchards in the backyard first…
sam was more than willing to do pretty much anything…until winds picked up and we were frozen to the bone. The rest of the bridal party went to go warm up in the car while MOH Catie and Sam enjoyed a few last minute laughs and poses.

then meandered over to some awesome nearby train tracks and let the ‘sass’ spew. Back at the Green Gables Estate, we avoided San Diego’s once-in-a-lifetime hurricane remnants and gushed over the incredible Bridal Prep room decorated with posh little quaint details.

oh man….these little ones…. :)

the lady in waiting… ;) love these moments of anticipation. the excitement OOZED… :)
to be continued… :) | lkm

….can’t wait to share memories from their stunning wedding day! eeks!:)
Peter + Vanessa | Hidden Oaks Rancho Cucamonga California Wedding Photography | Sunset Session
{Peter + Vanessa | BUGBEE-JOHNSON WEDDING | Upland, California | 06.16.12}
As I was editing some of my very favorite sweetheart images from P + V’s wedding day, I wanted to share a few! One of the biggest things that struck me about P + V’s wedding was their love and concern for those coming to celebrate with them! These two were so intentional as they planned their wedding ay and did their absolute best to cater to the different needs of guest, kept guests and family in the loop while planning, asked me a plethora of questions that would make sure they capitalized on as much photo time as they could–they were brilliant! Since they opted not to see each other before the ceremony, we knew we would have to really be attentive to the time constraints for their post-ceremony pictures without making guests wait too long. That interlude is often pretty tricky to navigate. After their reception grand entrance, we b-lined it straight to sunset picture time. While guests enjoyed food and bonding, we embraced the golden sunlight spilling into the back of the property! We whipped out some stellar images and wonderful memories as they relaxed and got ready to party with friends and family! | lkm

love you guys!

{Vanessa (Johnson) Bugbee | My New Sister! | Claremont, CA | Johnson-Bugbee Wedding 06.16.12}
My brother, Peter Bugbee, turned 25 today. Well–yesterday technically. On the 4th. Along with promised fireworks, I was dead set on releasing a few teasers of his brand new bride…i may be 30 minutes late, but alas, beauty still drips and my heart is full as i post a few favorites of Vanessa on her and Peter’s wedding day. Happy Birthday Brotha! I love you! | lkm
5 years ago today… | personal
{My Hubby & I | Kimberly Crest Park, Redlands, CA | July 14, 2007}
5 years ago today Lawson Moore proposed to me on the shores of Puerto Galera, a small island an hour’s boat ride off of Manila Bay, Philippines. It was pretty picture perfect. We even had a double rainbow show up minutes before he got down on one-knee and everything. It was the first time we kissed. It was the most awkward ALL-TEETH kinda kiss because I was smiling so big. I’d tell the whole story, but it really is way better if I act it out for you. So I guess we’ll just have to meet. And then I’ll give you the blow-by-blow with all antics, hand-motions and sound effects included. :) …p.s. Dear Husband, you rock my face off. | lkm
mmmm. love sure does ripen over the years. i look at this picture moments before he popped the question and think to myself, ‘oh the things you will learn and grow to love evermore…”
