Terms & Conditions
Please read the following carefully before completing your registration. By signing the registration form, parents and guardians confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined below.
The Cultivating Kids Photography Summer Camp ("Program") provides hands-on photography instruction for youth ages 10–14. Sessions are held at Classical Academy Middle School (CAMS), 144 W Woodward Ave, Escondido, CA 92025, over three days at three hours per day (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM). Drop-off begins at 9:15 AM at the main entrance.
- Activities include DSLR camera instruction, composition exercises, and both indoor and outdoor creative challenges on and around the CAMS campus.
- Cultivating Kids Photography Camps are stocked with 20+ professional DSLR cameras — no personal equipment is required to participate.
- Students are encouraged to bring any DSLR camera they may own from home to explore whether they learn and engage as effectively with their own gear.
Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of a completed registration form and payment in full. Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All payments are made in full and are non-refundable in order to reserve your spot in camp.
- If there is a need to cancel your spot, funds will be honored as a credit toward future Cultivating Kids camps, workshops, or activities.
- Cultivating Kids reserves the right to cancel a session due to insufficient enrollment, in which case a full refund will be issued to all registered participants.
Credit transfers are available for cancellations made at any time prior to the session start date and may be applied to any future Cultivating Kids program.
Cultivating Kids provides professional DSLR cameras and related equipment for all camp participants. Students who choose to bring personal equipment do so at their own risk.
- The camp is not responsible for any personal equipment that is lost, stolen, or damaged during program activities.
- Parents and students agree to cover the cost of any Cultivating Kids company equipment that is damaged or broken if the student was found to be at fault.
- Reasonable, accidental wear during supervised instruction is expected and will not be the responsibility of the participant.
All photographs and creative work produced by participants during the Program remain the intellectual property of the student who created them.
- By enrolling, the student agrees to allow Cultivating Kids to use images produced as part of camp assignments for promotional purposes, including social media, website content, newsletters, and program marketing materials.
- Cultivating Kids will exercise care and discretion in the use of all participant images and will not publish a student's full name alongside their image without separate, explicit consent from a parent or guardian.
If you wish to opt out of promotional image use, please indicate this in writing at the time of registration. Opting out does not affect enrollment or participation in any way.
The safety and well-being of every camper is our highest priority. All participants are expected to treat fellow campers, instructors, and equipment with care and respect throughout the Program.
- All medical conditions, allergies, and medications must be disclosed on the health section of the registration form prior to the first day of camp.
- Participants must follow all instructor directions during field sessions and indoor activities.
- Participants may take part in outdoor photography sessions on and around the CAMS campus. Parents grant permission for outdoor activities by signing the registration form.
- Parents give permission for their child to apply sunscreen as needed during outdoor sessions.
- Bullying, harassment, disruptive, or dangerous behavior may result in dismissal from the Program. No refund will be issued in cases of dismissal for conduct.
- In the event of a medical emergency, Cultivating Kids staff will make every reasonable effort to contact the parent or guardian immediately. Staff are authorized to seek emergency medical treatment for a participant if a parent or guardian cannot be reached.
Participation in the Cultivating Kids Photography Summer Camp involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical activity, equipment handling, outdoor conditions, and general risks associated with group youth programming.
By signing the registration form, the parent or legal guardian, on behalf of themselves, the participant, and their heirs and assigns, agrees to the following:
- They acknowledge the risks associated with participation and confirm the participant is in adequate health to attend.
- They release, waive, and discharge Cultivating Kids, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and instructors from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Program, to the fullest extent permitted by California law.
- They agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cultivating Kids from any loss, liability, or costs incurred due to the participant's involvement in the Program, except in cases of gross negligence.
This waiver is binding. Parents and guardians are encouraged to read it in full before signing the registration form. By signing, they confirm they have read and understood its terms and are signing freely on behalf of the minor participant.
