PART ONE | THE PRELUDE 

Fresh spring air rose up over Pasadena's foothills. The private residence was quaint. Decorated with nostalgia, family heirlooms and frosted with more make-up and DIY favor remnants than we knew what to do with. Chickens clucked on the trampoline, tablecloths waved in the fresh morning breeze and the laughter of long-time friends sprinkled throughout last minute responsibilities, anticipation and the emotion of, "FINALLY." 

My highlights from the very beginning were the way her girls took care of her. They tended to details. Painted vases in their PJs. Put Abby first. And then there was the bride herself.  Abby's up-do was one of the most beautiful i've seen. Her one simple jewelry choice was this perfect blue stone on a gold chain. The denim jackets, the flower girls and their boots, the tosses of babies breath against these perfect bridesmaid dresses...

And then she put that dress on...and her girls were laughing and her mom was crying and all Abby could do was LAUGH. SO. HARD....

Meanwhile Jeff waited in the foothills with his merry men...

Disney Acrobate and Hollister Model Engagement Session | Padua Hills Theatre | Claremont, CA

{Lillie & Aaron | Disney Acrobate & Anakin Skywalker Engaged | Padua Hills Theatre, Claremont, Ca} So much giggles during this engagement session earlier this past summer! Anakin Skywalker (cough), i mean Aaron, dotes on his little lady and she gets equally googly-eyed. The whole time we shot he was strutting his model curves and she'd kidney-shot him from time to time. We were in stitches by the end of the day!

These two are getting married today! And I'm pretty sure there is nobody more giddy on the face of the planet than they are....wait. (time lapse). nope. i checked. | LKM

Merry Christmas from the Moore Family | 2013

Merry Christmas! Here are a few highlights from my home to yours!

1. TUCSON is growing on us. We’ve been here for almost 3 years and we took a tally of a few of our favorite things: incredible sunsets, terrific weather 9 months out of the year (we EARN them with our blistering summers), gourmet pizza parlor The Heist, Greek restaurant Opa, a nearby state park 10 minutes down the road that give us our green grass & palm tree fix, monsoon season, cheapo theater, desert textures that Lawson is determined to capture photographically, and our local gym whose kids club workers dote on our kids every morning.
2. STARBUCKS.  It’s a great company to work for. Lawson’s has learned learned more about himself personally and professionally in this one year than all of his professional experience combined. We are thankful for the sandpaper experiences; hard but good.
3. SECOND MILE. Our new church in Tucson rocks our world. We love the people and the heart that make up Second Mile. We have been impressed by their tangible love for Tucson and passion to raise up ‘the next generation’ well. There are a million talented friends at the church that are super fun to serve alongside and families that are in the “raising-little-people” trenches with us. It is because of Second Mile that we chose to stay in Tucson. It has changed our lives.
4. PHOTOGRAPHY continues to blossom and take on new shades of joy. A collection of exciting opportunities this past year have jump-started a whole new stage of credibility, provision and artistic development. You can track with our photography adventure at  laurakmoore.com!
5. JUDAH is 5 ½ and started kindergarden this year. It was a rough start at first but watching him flourish with new friends and constructive activities and routine was extraordinary. He LOVES it.
6. JORDYN turns 4 in a couple weeks and has thrived with her quality time with mom while Judah is in school. Her favorite hobbies are drawing, cutting up paper to make her own confetti of sorts (we still don’t get it), singing a few particular pop songs at the top of her lungs. We recently upgraded to a super off-key version of “I love you Lord” that will rock your face off.
7. JERICHO turned 1 in September and is quickly earning the nickname JBAM (his initials). He will swing from jovial go-lucky to volatile terror faster than you can say “BAM BAM”. His laugh is the light of our family and Judah & Jordyn can’t get enough of him (that is, when Jericho hasn’t latched on teeth-clenched to Jordyn’s Barbie’s head or steel-gripped to Judah’s curls) SO. FUN.

Christman Family | Tiburon, California | Bay Area Portrait Photographer

{Christman Family | Mill Valley, Town of Tiburon,  Bay Area Family Portrait Photographer} This precious little family was a joy to hang out with. I have NEVER worked so hard in my LIFE to get two little girls to 'stay with me' and 'stay happy'. Props to my two assistants who were on full-blown joy overload for the 2 hours we spent together! We frolicked. We chased pigeons. We raced. We changed activities about 5 million times to keep everybody on their toes. The mist was thick. The town was quiet. And this family let me watch them be a family for a couple hours. It was a pretty epic afternoon. we sipped tea in front of boutiques. if ever there were a middle name for this town, it would most certainly be "la ti da".our stage #2 of Operation: 'Keep Little Ones Stoked' (about pictures) was staged back at Golden Gate Theological Seminary where this family has been for several years. I hope these pictures are full of nostalgia. These girls have swung on these swings since they could sit up straight. It's often the little things; the little places with the biggest memories ya know? i just love this black and white below...and then finally, i had to mention i got adam to give me a bona fide frolick. best. moment. ever.though the image below might be my most top favoriteand then I politely and ever so gently asked this mildly reserved couple to just give me a few moments...some sweet, married tenderness. and indeed...mommy and daddy still are crazy about each other :)oh! and one last final little note from this beautiful momma...they are most definitely expecting #3....and this is their announcement picture. i'll translate. 1 +1+1=5. :) Dear friends, thank you for trusting me with these memories! Mill Valley, in all its mystery and lovely dew, was a wonderful place to shoot in for the first time! Thank you for introducing me to the town of Tiburon; "San Francisco's Best Kept Secret" and, more importantly, your little girls. I hope these are treasures for years to come :) | LKM
